Hundred Hut

Mini and micro game dev studios continue to appear and flourish, but the work in keeping a functioning studio, and a focussed production schedule can be a massive pain. It's the sort of unwelcome tasks that remove you from the reason you got into this in the first place. To make cool stuff.

Many small devs underestimate what a dedicated production resource can bring to the party, but they're there to allow you to worry about making your project everything you want it to be, whilst ensuring your clients are happy and your project stays on track.

It doesn't have to be a full time thing, either. Many teams have excellent planners and stay on top of the day-to-day drudgery, but at critical moments when you just want to get your head down and plough through, being able to call upon a resource to handle the drudge, for as little or as long as required, can be invaluable.

I'm Mark Inman, I've been working in games since 1993, starting in QA at Liverpool based publisher and developer Psygnosis. There I worked on titles for everything from Amiga through to PlayStation (making jaunty little stop offs at things like the FM Towns and CD32 along the way).

After 6 years there, I moved to Electronic Arts working on a variety of sports titles and the inaugural Shogun: Total War title. From there I moved into production at Nokia, working on WAP (ask your parents) and early J2ME titles for mobile phones.

Next stop was Morpheme Game Studios, a BAFTA award winning mobile game studio working on a range of original and licensed titles for mobile phones. I then set up Honeyslug with some friends and ex-Morpheme team members, producing interesting little games on PC, iOS, Flash, PSP, Vita, PS3 and PS4.

I am now based in Sussex, on the south coast of England and set up Hundred Hut. I've worked two license based titles. A hidden object game loosely themed around Frankenstein with a Welsh funded Polish dev studio in Krakow, and a narrative adventure set in the Planet of the Apes universe for The Imaginarium, Andy Serkis' performance capture studio and production company.

Hundred Hut Frankenstein's Legacy (PC) for Oysterworld, It's Quiz Time (XBO/PC) for Standfast Interactive and Snap Finger Click, Blackwood Crossing (XBO) for Standfast Interactive and Paper Seven. Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier (PS4/PC/XBO) for The Imaginarium

Honeyslug Kahoots (PSP), Poto and Cabenga (Flash), Happily Ever After (PC), Frobisher Says (PS Vita), Hohokum (PS3/Vita/PS4), Passing Time (Playstation Mobile), Super Exploding Zoo (PS4/Vita)

Morpheme Balloon Headed Boy (J2ME/iOS/PC), Sola Rola: Gravity Maze (Flash), Bluetooth Biplanes (Mobile), Hitman Mobile (Mobile), Silverfin: Young Bond Adventure (Mobile), Poker Million (Mobile), Tube Map (Mobile)

Nokia Infocom Adventures (WAP), Metal Gear Solid (WAP)
